|Harvest Thanksgiving Mass||Harvest Mass of Thanks giving 2018|
The annual mass of Harvest Thanksgiving took place in the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Lacken on Oct 27th.
This year the mass included a special blessing for the Farming Community after a difficult year marked by heavy snow, flooding and drought.
Fr Richard prayed for protection for all who work the land while Deacon Gerry blessed the congregation with holy water. The children from Lacken N.S part in the opening procession of gifts and in the prayers of the faithful.
We are very grateful to the many parishioners who donated cakes, preserves and plants which were sold after the mass. Proceeds from the sale of donated items will bo towards the maintenance and improvements to Lacken Church.
"So now we celebrate this fruitfulness of harvest, the beauty of creation, the fruits of the earth and all who work to provide for our needs".

First Holy Communion Lacken N.S.
Congratulations to the boys and girls who celebrated their First Holy Communion on May 12th. Many thanks to all who helped to prepare for this lovely ceremony , to the teachers , school choir, organist Cora, pastoral worker Áine and Fr. Behan.
A special word of thanks to all who decorated the church so beautifully and to the parents who organised the refreshments in the school hall.
May Jesus bless our children who have received Holy Communion for the first time. May this day be an initial step to a lifelong love of the Eucharist and nay we all be inspired to cherish this sacred sacrament. "Amen"
